YEAR K - 6 MUSIC TEACHER

PART -TIME (0.6 FTE), PERMANENT

COMMENCING JANUARY 2020

 

We are currently seeking an experienced classroom teacher with a passion for music and a willingness to learn, sound pedagogical knowledge and skill, to teach music in our Primary School (years K to 6). This is a part-time position, commencing in January 2020. 

 

There is a responsibility for planning relevant and engaging learning experiences, demonstrating a high level of curriculum knowledge, using appropriate assessment tools and recording student progress through the School’s online management system (SEQTA). The position requires applicants to also have the ability to develop inclusive learning environments, foster positive relationships and to communicate with staff, students and parents in a timely and respectful manner. It is expected that the successful applicant will attend staff meetings, curriculum evenings and parent/teacher interviews.

 

The successful applicant will have the following attributes: 

 

  • Have a teaching degree and the ability to teach music;
  • Have the ability to demonstrate high quality interpersonal skills and teaching practices;
  • Hold a current TRBWA registration;
  • Have a good knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum;
  • Have excellent classroom management skills.

PRIMARY EDUCATION ASSISTANT

FULL -TIME (1.0 FTE), PERMANENT

COMMENCING JANUARY 2020

 

We are seeking an Education Assistant to provide support for the best possible education for students in the classroom and contributes to the pastoral care and co-curricular programs of the school.

 

The successful applicant will have the following knowledge and skills:

  • Confidently implement and evaluate education programs for individuals and groups of students, including the keeping of appropriate records under the supervision of a primary school teacher
  • The ability to support students by listening, encouraging directing, and explaining skills, concepts and instructions
  • Well-developed communication skills and a teamwork growth mindset
  • Experience working inclusively with children who have additional needs
  • Incorporate the Keep Child Safe: Child Protection
  • Curriculum and follow mandatory reporting legislation.

 

Key Selection Criteria:

 

  • Certificate III Teacher's Assistant
  • Current Working with Children card
  • Provide a National Police Clearance (no more than 3 months old)
  • Willingness to be involved in excursions, camps and the co-curricula program of the school
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, families and other professionals.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to current reforms and trends in education
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • Preparedness to be involved in school activities and professional team work.
