The new WA curriculum has mandated the teaching of Design technologies, Digital technologies, subjects in the Arts until year 8. At Geraldton Grammar School we teach these on a rotational basis in years 7 providing an opportunity for students to try different subjects and fulfilling the needs of the curriculum. In year 8 students choose different contexts whilst still fulfilling the mandated requirements of the curriculum. In years 9 to 12 students are provided with an opportunity to choose the subjects they enjoy and are good at.

The Teaching of Languages other than English are mandated until year 8. We offer a comprehensive language program beginning from Kindergarten through to year 12. This year we have students completing ATAR Chinese as a Second Language, we are the only school offering Languages at an ATAR level.

In years 11 and 12, students have the opportunity to choose from a total of 28 different ATAR and General Courses of Study. In 2019 we also have students studying 3 Vocational Education and Training certificates; a certificate 2 in Business, Outdoor Recreation and Digital Media.
